The Man and His P-Bass

One of the greatest ever. Hard to find a lot of live footage with him, but here's one classic to check out. And, if you can deal with one of those music/image montages that people like to do, check out the music (not footage) of the Jackson 5's "Darling Dear." Damn, it's nice.

Enjoy your Friday.

Great Tone, Timing and Movement. I don't know how to describe good bass playing other than "movement".

If you like great bass playing you have to check out Ron Carter's "Piccolo". One of my favorite albums.

Hey JB,
I also have James' bass line soloed
from the 'Mountain High' sessions.
Amazing to hear.
Only on cassette for now but that will change.
If ya want the Uriel beats I'll mail 'em to ya?

WJ,

Damn, the bass from those sessions would be killer to hear solo. And, you did send me the Uriel beats a while back, unless there are others? I really appreciated you sending those. Talk about a piece of history in the making.

Ian, I'm also a big Ron Carter fan. Can't go wrong with him either. Thanks for the note.
