Too Many Orders Pavel
We all know Toby has blown-up over the last few years as a designer/shaper. The picture on the left is from a custom shape session he did for me in late 2003; the one on the right is the bonzer he did for me a few months back. Notice a difference? Yeah, we all age over four years time, but damn! Even with machines and ghost shapers, he has an intensely formidable list of customs. I hope he's able to pull it off. Good luck, Toblerone.

Toby is a great guy! and awesome shaper. He shaped me my first custom board about 17 years ago. I was just a wide eyed 11 year old grom. He taught me about bonzers and the four fin designs. I remember those shaping sessions to this day. Voltaire baby!
Anyone who has been in the room while he shapes know how much love, passion and effort he puts into his boards. And they would know why it takes a while.
I was blown away last year when I googled his name to see how much he had BLOWN UP. He was always my shaper, but I didn't know he was a "guru". I mean, I knew he was the man, and the shaper of the boards that I learned to surf on, but I thought he was just another local shaper.
Thanks Toby.
Yeah, Ian I'm with you. Toby was always the guy that we went to, it didn't even require a second thought. Nowadays is a different story altogether with the amount of orders he has.
Voltaire is right! When you could walk in, he'd grab a blank and you'd be off. Break for lunch, go back in, and your board was ready for the glasser. The "team" photo down out No Surf with kneeboarders, longboarders, shortboarders, fish riders and all kinds of other craft. Those were some incredibly fun days.
Got my first custom board from him, I'm the luckiest guy ever as my wonderful wifey won it in a San-O surf club raffle. Free Pavel! Theres nothing better than that. It took a little over a year to get and it was well worth the wait. When I'm able to get another board made I'll definitly go back to him.
My first true custom board was made by him also. Had the chance to meet him last year in the UK. It is special thing to have guys like that on your neighborhood, you are very lucky guys!!!!!!!
I'm one of the "new" Rich customers, and I gotta say, if you can man out the wait, the results are pretty incredible. I never even rode a fish until I got the speedialer, and wow, what an insane shape. He is really cool--bought me coffee, gave me a really fancy set of quad fins, a shirt, shitload of wax. Whaddya want, right? Super nice dude.
