Absolute Respect

Not really in surf mode the past couple of days. This is unfortunate
since the surf has looked really good. The ash and overall bad air quality trump the need for surf. Barely. Thinking about paddling out
is a crazy contrast to the realities faced by firefighters and rescue personnel on the front lines of the fires. My best to all of them.

Two questions: Is your abode safe? Are you safe?

You need to go and get wet. It will alleviate some of that understandable anxiety about these fires. You have our permission. Stay safe!

Thanks. We're all safe along the coast. Air was really bad the past few days, but it has improved. Not sure if you saw that pic JP posted at Surfy Surfy, but those "ash slicks" were heavy. I really don't want to inhale all this stuff more than I have to. But yes, I do indeed need to get in the water very soon.

Yeah, I'm feeling the effects of six hours of surfing (in the last two days) not far from Malibu. My throat hurts in a weird way. I'm sure it's from breathing in all of that putrid air.

I'm glad you got wet. You needed it.
